Celebrating Creative Exploration Since 1978
The San Francisco Children’s Art Center is a non-profit studio art center whose mission is to nurture the developmental and artistic growth of children through creative expression and self-guided learning. By encouraging experimentation and discovery in a supportive environment, the Art Center is a place filled with possibilities, where children can collaborate, explore, and grow.
Unique Afterschool and Flexible Pre-K Options
Here at the Art Center, afterschool students experience the advantage of direct contact with professional artists, connections with students from different schools and backgrounds, and the wild oasis of our National Parks campus. Students are challenged by artistic techniques rarely offered in typical afterschool programs, such as digital photography or kiln-fired clay, while feeling the individual support and attention of a small class size. For toddlers and Pre-Ks, we offer daily morning and afternoon options to accommodate your other activities, naps and school schedules.

Friday Parents' Night Out Drop-in Studio is Back
Ready for a night out? Drop your child off anytime between 6:00-9:00pm on Fridays through October, and pay by the hour as your children enjoy the use of our studio. The many art, theater, and culinary options in the Fort Mason area and nearby neighborhoods make this a convenient destination to drop the kids off and enjoy an evening out without going too far.
The San Francisco Children's Art Center is a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education. We are also proud to work with Performing Arts Workshop in conjunction with First 5 San Francisco.
