Celebrating creative exploration since 1978
The San Francisco Children’s Art Center is a non-profit studio art center whose mission is to nurture the developmental and artistic growth of children through creative expression and self-guided learning. By encouraging experimentation and discovery in a supportive environment, the Art Center is a place filled with possibilities, where children can collaborate, explore, and grow.
Now enrolling for Spring and Summer Classes
So much to do, so little (summer)time!
With so many summer camp options, how do you choose? We make it easy to select topics that pique your child’s interest, with a range of half-day, afternoon themes that vary from week to week. Students ages 5½ to 10 can become immersed in cool clay, capture their world with digital photography, or interpret the scenic vistas of our unique Fort Mason campus. They can also develop their painting and drawing skills, build fantastic structures, or create a unique collection of handmade books and puppets. Read more: How does summer work at SFCAC?
Introducing Date Night Drop-Off, every Friday evening
Did you know the Art Center provides inexpensive childcare on Friday evenings? Drop your child off anytime between 5-8pm* and pay by the hour as your children enjoy the use of our studio. Our teachers provide a variety of age-appropriate art activities (material selection is tailored to your child’s age), stories, and a healthy snack if desired.
The popular Off the Grid food truck event on Friday nights, as well as the many art, theater and culinary options in the Fort Mason area and nearby neighborhoods make this a convenient destination to drop the kids off and enjoy an evening out without straying too far. Call in advance to reserve a space; walk-ins are also welcome! (415) 771-0292
Friday evenings, 5:00-8:00pm.* - Drop-Off program is canceled for Friday, 5/11!
*Times may vary within a half-hour with each seasonal class session. Current times will be posted on our website. $10/hour
